About

Caroline Renard is a first generation Haitian-American screenwriter, director and author based in Los Angeles but originally from Miami, Florida. She is a graduate of the Florida State University with a degree in African American Studies with a concentration in Sociology and a minor in Political Science. Her concentration in Sociology helps her to examine people and the society that we live in, which is reflected throughout her art.

She was most recently a Story Editor for SECRETS OF SULPHUR SPRINGS (Disney+) and when not writing, Caroline has transitioned into directing. Her directorial debut short film, UNBRAIDED, had its world premiered at the renowned Santa Barbara International Film Festival and won Best Comedic Short at the 2024 Michaeux Film Festival. The award-winning short film has premiered in more than ten festivals. She was most recently chosen to be part of Black Film Space 2024 Mentee Cohort for directing. She is also currently working on her feature directorial debut.

When she is not writing or directing, Caroline is a dog mom, traveler and an ordained minister who’ll officiate your wedding for the price of champagne. As a creative, Caroline hopes to blend her love for her culture and sociology into rich colorful storytelling for future generations.
